Welcome to MAP South Futures Mite / U8 Program. This Program provides training for hockey players who will be Mites and U8s for the 2021-2022 hockey season. This program will be conducted at the historic West Saint Paul Ice Arena and/or Saint Thomas Ice Arena where hard work and tradition have created champions.
MAP Futures Program, directed by Sean Foley, is a developmental hockey program for youth Mite/U8 players featuring on ice training. The sequential program is designed to introduce the age appropriate skills in a planned step by step progression and to properly sustain young athletes over an extended period of time. This will allow these skills to become a part of the player’s permanent repertoire.
We stress proper technique and repetition for improving power and agility skating, quickness, stick handling, passing, and shooting skills in a supportive and positive environment.
The enrichment program is built on a 25 plus year history of teaching the proper skills and techniques necessary for the fast pace of hockey. We have a proven curriculum and methodology and the combined experience of our professional staff results in a premier program that not only challenges players but also give them the advantage necessary to take their game to the next level.
Have your Mite learn hockey the RIGHT WAY with MAP South Futures Mite / U8 Program directed by Sean Foley. We focus on building skills through a combination of fun and competitive drills designed to target skating, shooting, passing and stick handling.
We train twice a week for one hour over a 3 month period so there is plenty of time for other sports and activities. This keeps youth boy and girl athletes excited about the great game of hockey during the off season. Summer is a great time for players to work on skill development in a non pressured environment. Habits are formed at a young age. Ensure your athlete develops with the MAP Futures Mite / U8 program.
